Sake, Japanese Rice Wine, is made from simply water and rice. The specific sake taste was determined by the kind of rice, hardness, and taste of water, kinds of Koji powder, which is fermented agency, and the method of brewing.  Sake flavor can be broadly divided into 4 types in light, fruity, rich and aged.  

You will also learn the procedures of brewing sake and reading labels of the bottles.

Enjoy Tasting and

The Marriage of Sake and Japanese Food Samples

At this sake tasting class, you can taste those four types of sake individually then tryout marriage with food samples. There are five kinds of food, sushi, 3 types of miso, fresh tofu with condiments, seasonal fruits, and Japanese sweets.  You may find the foods also change the sake flavor in your mouth and find various marriage way of four kinds of sake and 5 food samples.

-  The Recipes  -

You will receive a complete recipe by email after the class.  Furthermore, some recipes call the universal ingredients you can get easy as long as there are Asian supermarkets around your area. You can recreate the dishes in your home kitchen.

-  About Menu  -

The ingredients will be determined by the seasons and the supplier’s situation. If you have any dietary restrictions or prefer vegan and vegetarian sushi, please let me know 48 hours prior to the class.

I will drop you at my favorite local famous liquor shop after this class if you want.

The Atmosphere

All taking place at a venue, a new modern Japanese house

that feels you are been invited to a local friend's home, so quite a fantastic experience.

Please make a booking for 24 hours prior. 

If you have any dietary restrictions or prefer vegan and vegetarian, please let me know 48 hours prior to the class.

About Other Participants

The class is not a private class. There might be attended other participants who request the same date. 

The first signed up participant can decide the cooking menu.

 

For Single Travelers

Single travelers can attend with an extra fee.  Since I offer the cooking class in my private space, all-male attendants should be accompanied by female attendants.


The Attendee Should Be Over 20 Years Old

Sake will be served only for the person who is over 20 years old and who will not drive a car after this class by Japanese Law.

As the activities are hands-on classes, please be careful and responsible for your own safety. We do not hold any liability for accidents.

Cancellation policy

In case of cancellation, the cancellation fees will be charged as below;

  • Full refund  More than 8 days prior to the class

  • 
30%........... 4 - 7 days prior to the class

  • 
50%........... 2 - 3 days prior to the class

  • 
80%........... the day prior to the class


  • 100%......... the class day

Fees:

Weekdays  : ¥8,000 / person

Weekends*: 10,000 / person

* weekends, national holidays and peak season
