Japanese food culture, Food event in Tokyo, Japanese unique ingredients and classes
I've welcomed travelers from Philippine, they are parent and her son who love Japan and Japanese food. They have visited not only Tokyo, but also many cities through Japan from Hokkaido to Kyushu in south island.
They've already tasted major Japanese food, such as sushi, ramen and gyoza, and now it is first time to participate in Sushi making class in Tokyo. The son booked my cooking class with Airbnb, and he takes such good care of his mother. They enjoyed cooking sushi and miso soup from the scratch.
Commonly people in my cooking class say it is first time to make sushi roll and might make shapeless sushi roll. However, everyone makes beautiful sushi roll eventually and enjoyed arranging stylish presentation on their plate.
Both the mother and the son enjoyed cooking and tasting sushi, miso soup and Japanese sweets very much. I believe this is precious cooking experience to learn home style cooking because you can't taste in Japanese restaurant. The menu I provide is all common home meal menus. However, I don't cook sushi so often, only for family event and seasonal celebration. So the taste and the shape are not perfect, but no food additives make the food very wormy taste. I'd share those taste with visitors from the world.
