I've been giving cooking classes at home in Tokyo from 2016, and just launched cooking class in Karuizawa, Nagano pref. in autumn in 2018.
There is a Japanese house in Karuizawa town, where is a popular summer resort in Nagano prefecture. The place is easy to access, one hour bullet train ride from Tokyo station.
The town is popular summer resort because the temperature is almost 10 ℃ cooler than Tokyo. Many people visit the town from Tokyo and neighboring prefectures especially from July to August to evacuate from heat cities.
Also, people visit karuizawa town for skiing. The town is well known as high probability of having clear sky during winter time, so great place to enjoy winter sports.
A day in autumn, I have welcomed a guest from Denver in U.S. He has been spending busy days in Tokyo as his business trip, and wanted to take a relaxed day off not in busy Tokyo, in rural area. Also he likes Japanese food and interested in cooking.
We cooked Wagyu beef steak with soy sauce based seasonings as the main dish, also cooked some dishes with local ingredients.
He said he spent wonderful experience in the house.

The house is surrounded by trees. There is moss garden during spring to early autumn, withered leaves in late autumn to cover to moisture the garden, then covered with snow in winter.
